Helping Hawthorne Grow
Hawthorne Foundation Development Corporation was formed with the intent of assisting Hawthorne Foundation Inc. by developing and implementing plans to provide funds to supplement HFI needs, from capital to donations to program needs.
In many instances the necessity for supplemental funding is required for program expansion and development. In others, the need is for capital expansion, such as our recently completed swimming pool and pool house at our Westchester campus, and the opening and outfitting of the new High School we opened in September 2018 in Manhattan. Projects also embarked upon are related to the support of new programs such as the great need for uncertified housing or to supports for improvements that cannot be funded in total by state or other governmental funding sources.
It is also important to note that while we receive funds from various sources donations and grants are often restricted by donors in the use of funds.
General donations are most welcomed to assist staff in utilizing funds for much needed special development projects such as Technology Development, expanded wifi, computers, iPads and Smart Boards.

Our staff are most generous with donating their time by conducting small events that give them the extra financial resources available for special purposes. Activities for raising supplemental funds are very helpful to our organization.

Special Events for HFDC have included:

-
Annual fundraisers at places such as Circle in the Square, Russian Tea Room, Tavern on the Green, Chelsea Piers, Boat Cruises around Manhattan Island, Yale Club, Copacabana, to name a few.
-

Many Organizations and individuals in our community generously support the work of Hawthorne Foundation Inc.
Our recently successful Capital Campaign raised more than $585,000 to build a new swimming pool at our Westchester Campus for instructional and recreational use and was completed in 2018. This campaign included donations from individuals, community organizations, parents and friends. In 2019 we have received a generous donation from a benefactor that has provided funds to enable us to conduct swimming lessons for students during our summer program as well as swimming lessons for our Pre-K students and a Saturday free swim program. Adult Swimming will also be available through this program in August.
Please support our HELP HAWTHORNE GROW development efforts. If you have a great idea and wish to lend a helping hand we would love to hear your plans.
The families and individuals we serve will benefit from your support.
A SUPPORT WE GREATLY NEED
THANK YOU
